| I read a lot of mixed reviews on X-men 3, and all I have to say is thanks to the internet, I'm glad I didn't pay 9$ to see it, it wasn't much of a movie. Watching it back to back after X2 made it even worse.
As an action movie it delivers, lots of effects and all, very fast moving, but even so it was a bit silly. Mutants cahrge into soldiers and not a one seemed to use their powers in this 'epic" battle that was over in less than a minute.
Storyline wise the whole thing isbrushed over, there's barely a plot. And character wise, wow, so many cool new characters...and not a one properly introduced or even given a hint of their background. How disappointing. But in only an hour and a half run time it's even worse - they could have it 2.5 hours and taken the time to delve into the awesome characters of the X-Men and buff up the plot line a lot.
I guess it's to the library for me to try and scrounge up the comics to read and get the back stories that I want to hear. All in all worth it at a dollar theatre, maybe as a rental, but not much more. |
